Competitive Gymnastics Programs


Level 1
A 2 hr. class:  meets twice weekly, skills concentrated on are foward, backward rolls, handstands/headstands, cartwheels and round offs on floor. Bars: Pull over and back hip circle: Beam: Basic Walks and Jumps.  Vault: Running and Jumping on the Spring Board.

Level 2:
Continuation of Level 1:  Meets twice weekly:  Floor Skills: Head stands, handstands, cartwheels, round offs, bridge, jumps and turns. Beam: Basic walks and jumps, turns and leaps. Bars: Pull over, back hip circle, straddle dismounts and other casting skills. Vault: Handspring drills and running drills continued.

Level 3:
Last Basic competitive level. Floor: Meets twice a week. Back and Front handpsrings, round offs, handstand foward roll, back and front walk overs, dive cartwheels, Leaps, turns and jumps are focused on floor: Beam: handstand, more elaborative walks and balancing skills,  round off dismount. Bars; Back and front hip circles, mill circles and squat dismounts: Vault: Dive Foward Rolls

Level 4: First Sanctioned Competitive Level: Meets thrice weekly:  Front and back handsprings, beginning front and back tucks, leaps and dance skills.  Beam: English and side handstands, cartwheel and jumping drills: Bars: continuation of level 3 skills with addition of tap swings, undershoots and kip drills.  Vault: Handspring Flat back on stack mats. Gymnasts of this level are required to take one ballet class a week.

Level 5:
Meets Thrice Weekly: 2nd Sanctioned Level: Double Back handsprings, front handspring rebound., continuation of tucks, front and side ariels as well as beginning lay out/ twisting drills. Bars: Kips, front hip circle, squat on, long hang kip, high bar back hip circle- tap swings. Beginning giant  and fly away skills. Beam: Split and tuck Jumps, Cartwheel, english and side handstand, begining back walkover and handspring drills. Vault: Front handspring over Table. One Ballet class a week is required of this level.

Level 6/7:
Last Compulsory Level-1st optional Level:Meets Four Times Weekly. First regional opportunity. Bars: Front and back Layout and Full twisting drills. Double front handspring and handspring tuck combinations, double front and back tuck drills. Advanced leaps and turns, intricate dance elements. Bars: Giants, free hips, long hang pull overs, fly aways both layed out and tucked. Beam: handsprings, round offs, series, switch leaps, straddle jumps. Vault: Begining Tsuk drills and twisting handsprings as well as regular front handsprings over the table. One Ballet class a week is required of this level.

Boys Team-
By invitation only: An extension of our Boys II gym class Boys practice  twice weekly. Boys will compete on USAG levels 4 and 5.
